After the birth of my son I fell in love with birth. I jumped at every chance to talk about it and my own experience. I then started to think about becoming a doula. My friend had been such a great help in my own experience, and I wanted to help others in that special experience.

I have three wonderful boys, Owen, 5, Robin, 3, and Oliver, 15 months. I am currently completing my certification through Doulas of North America (DONA). My three births were very different, but the constant support from our own doula helped us to embrace each pregnancy, labour and birth with love and confidence. Since my first birth, I have dreamed of being part of the birth world. I am passionate about birth, breastfeeding, and look forward to supporting families as they begin this amazing journey.
I live in Fort St James, but am able to travel to Vanderhoof to support birthing mamas. I am able to help throughout pregnancy, labour, birth and early postpartum and with getting breastfeeding off to a good start.

Birth Doula
Raised by my parents on a farm here in Vanderhoof, I was surrounded by birth every spring with the animals we had. Birth has been an interest of mine from a very young age. Being the oldest of six younger siblings fuelled my love and passion for birth even further. I was fortunate to witness my first birth at age twelve, and second at age nineteen when my sisters were born. Every birth is so magical and unique in their own way. At age twenty, I started my training to become a birth doula. A year after starting my business I decided to further my education and became a certified childbirth educator. My love for birth really comes out in my classes when Im teaching an expecting family about the birthing process. As a young mother of 2 under 2, I understand the busyness of life and keep a flexible schedule. I provide private classes for families, as well as group classes throughout the year. I am very excited to be serving Vanderhoof and surrounding areas with my knowledge and drive for safe and empowering birth journeys.

Birth Doula
I’ve been a Doula since I was 14. It is by far one of my biggest passions. I’m not sure when exactly it started. I think I was 8 or 9 when I fell in love with the idea of becoming a midwife. I wasn’t one for reading at that time, but I would spend hours studying my mom’s midwifery books.
I want to help moms have the best birth experience possible and the best bond with their newborn. At this point I’m working for free. I really want this to be something helpful for young moms and moms without support or money to get a doula.

Birth Doula
I am a birth doula, photographer and videographer in Vanderhoof, BC. I have a son and a daughter. My daughter was delivered naturally and my son via c-section.
I love the unpredictability, tension, passion and excitement that come along with each and every birth and I have attended MANY births as a photographer although my doula journey is newer.
